A Michigan woman who claims she spun an initial $50 stake into $11 million playing an online roulette game at BetMGM is suing the casino giant for failing to pay up.
Jacqueline Davis, from Detroit, claims she played the “Luck O’ Roulette” fixed odds game at BetMGM for five days straight. By the end of her one-woman roulette-athon, she had dropped from $11 million to just $3 million, and figured it was time to quit while she was still a multimillionaire.
Except that she wasn’t, according to MGM. Davis’ lawsuit claims she went to the MGM Grand in Detroit to get a $100,000 advance on her winnings, which she says she was given in cash. When she returned the next day for the rest, she was told there had been a glitch in the system and she wouldn’t get a cent.
Davis claims MGM later said she could keep the $100,000 if she signed a confidentiality agreement to not talk about the glitch. If news of the glitch ever got out, Davis would have to return the money.
No Sleep for Winners
But Davis has been talking about the glitch to anyone who will listen, including her lawyer, David Steingold, and the local Fox affiliate.
She denied in an interview with Fox 2 that she knew the game had malfunctioned and that she was trying to exploit it.
“How could I?” she asked the reporter.
“Because you were winning.”
“The purpose of gambling is to win,” she said.
She told Fox she had stayed up for five days because “Who sleeps when you’re winning?”
All Pays and Plays
Glitches in casino games are not uncommon, both live and online. If you examine live slots closely, you’ll notice almost all bear a disclaimer stating, “Malfunction voids all pays and plays,” while online casinos have something similar included in their terms and conditions.
That means these types of cases don’t usually work out well for the plaintiffs, although, miraculously, one in the UK recently did.
Steingold, Davis’ attorney, told Fox that he didn’t dispute there was a glitch, but argued this was not a defense.
He said MGM is required, as a licensing condition, to check its games every 24 hours. Since his client played for five days, the company had ample opportunity to fix the problem.
Steingold said he’s dying to know exactly how much BetMGM makes on the Luck O’ the Roulette game and whether others who played at the same time but lost got their money back.
BetMGM has not responded to requests to comment on the situation.

While Slots.lv claims to use an Random Number Generator.. and I believe them to the point where what like to call a GOVERNOR subroutine takes over. In other words You start losing or never get past that one point you have reached as a high. Someone tell me how they pay put a million dollar jackpot at what is an illegal casino anyway? They run your credit card deposits thru cab . drivers, furniture store in every 3rd world country on this planet. Cab drivers and Uncle Wu at the Noodle factory take a small cut and returns the bulk to the feeder shell companies. I look forward to the day of LEGALIZED ONLINE GAMIMG and a gaming commission for oversight. NOW there is NONE. THEY DO WHAT THEY WANT.
I'm fighting w mgm right now for not getting a bonus they owe me. It's taken multiple attemts just to get to somebody to look into. Finally they added 200 but as a free bet which is not the same as adding the amount to acct. As promo stated. I had this bonus before and the money went rite in. Further more i recently went up over 3k which is alot for me. After that ive caught several winning bets marked as losers , another push marked as loser without getting stake back. And on at least 3 nights my end balance didnt match to my wins and losses, plus i only started screenshotting recently ,i didnt occur to me id be cheated. Who knows how many times they got over on me that i'm not aware of. I'm seriously pissed off. Now i have to spend the weekend going thru countless bets and trying to pinpoint all the times i got screwed .then try to call and get somewhere. The 3 times ive called the direct number ive been hung up on. I think people should get together and start a class action suit, we shouldnt have to screenshot every bet n worry about being cheated. I was involved in this buissness when i was a young man know it well. In sports betting at the end of a yr if a player bets every week almost nobody wins. And inside a casino only 1% of people leave w more mo ey than they came in with. Another fact so you know is they make aprox 80 % of their money on slots and the other 20 on table games. So go for the table games ,if your diciplined and leave when your up u stand a chance. And w this app.b.s. make sure you screenshot everybet as soon as you make it.It's pathetic that they would cheat people when almost all of them are going to lose anyway. It's beyond belief, they already have the juice rigged so high comoared to a street bookie that im surprised people just dont go back to the old school way.
I too have lost thousands playing online and the geo locator glitch is used at every casino I've gambled at. With 5 bars sitting on a a router . Kicks me off when it hits and tells me my internet connection is weak. They are about as fair and regulated as the numbers are randomly generated. You'd think poker would take their greedy hands out of the mix. But who knows what is behind a screen name and it freezes up and boots you out every other game and usually by the time you get logged back in it's over. But the government let's online casinos profit off the pandemic by stealing people's stimulus checks. And their customer support teams basically postpone untill they investigate. Over and over. I even had a thousand dollar win on a screenshot. They lied and told me there was no record of me playing that slot at that time. I'd been on it for hours and the pic was time-stamped. More investigating.
There seems to be a common problem with the geo locator and the online casinos ALL of them. Geo locator is to prevent players from cheating however geo locator is triggered to prevent casinos from a pay out too. Hmm why does the geo locator pop up when a bonus is triggered? According to my arrow it’s working and running just fine! I never had any issues with it until i won a bunch of money! I take snap shots and send them to support and they act like it’s just me? Never heard of such a problem? “ do you live near a state border?” I live no where near a state border! “Must be your router, try replacing it.” Yep I replaced it with this giant ass $500 dollar nighthawk that’s as big as a spaceship and can get a full Wi-Fi signal up at MARS for Pete’s sake! Do you know I actually have a full signal all the way to the end of my yard which is 3 acres! Point blanc I never ever had an issue until one online casino payed me $33,000.00 and another $5500.00 the next day and another $20,000.00 the day after that. So do you really think they don’t have my ip tagged? Bet they do!
Well they got me had a big win in hypernova and it crash and act like it never happen far as I know it was a big win!
