More Vegas Casinos Announce Competitively Priced F1 Grand Prix Packages

Several more viewing options for the Las Vegas Grand Prix being held November 16-18 were announced this week by the Palms and Ellis Island casino hotels. Though both are off the Strip, they face the racetrack that Formula 1 is currently erecting out of streets in and around Las Vegas Boulevard.

Ellis Island, a locals casino known for its value and not its luxury, is offering several “Turn 4 at Ellis Island Casino” options at the current lowest end of the expense spectrum.

A seat with food on Ellis Island’s grandstand will run $1,500 per person plus a $135 state entertainment tax, $56.23 processing fee, and a $9.96 service fee.

As pointed out by Scott Roeben, Casino.org’s own Vital Vegas blogger, this appears to signify that Ellis Island will only break even on this deal. This is because Formula 1 has been attempting to extort $1,500 per person from every Las Vegas business with a view of the track, reportedly threatening to block views with barricades, stands, light stanchions, and even lights shined toward the viewing areas of venues that refuse to license views of the race.

An Ellis Island package, including two grandstand seats and three nights at its hotel, runs $5,000. That certainly beats the $1 million package offered by Wynn Las Vegas and the $5 million package offered by Caesars Palace.

The lowest price point at the Palms, which is offering its Formula For Winning Grandstand package, is comparable. For $5,500, you get tickets, a Fantasy King room for two nights, and a $250 dining credit.

Then Comes the Craziness

The next Palms package up in price is the Formula For Winning Sky Villa Experience. Available for $75K, it includes tickets, two nights in a Palms Sky Villa, dinner for four at Scotch 80 Prime, and a VIP table at Ghostbar.

Then there’s the Palms’ 777 Experience. This $777K package includes six race tickets and two hospitality tickets, seven nights in the hotel’s Empathy Suite and a separate one-story Sky Villa, dinner for eight at Scotch 80 Prime, and a VIP table with seven bottles of rosé at Ghostbar.

The big race on Saturday, and its lead-up events, are expected to draw as many as 300K F1 fans who have paid an average of $6,651 per three-day package. That’s nearly 50% more than the $4,600 price for the Miami Grand Prix held this May, according to a study by the website kingcasinobonus.uk.
