Dead & Company announced on Tuesday six additional shows in their “Dead Forever — Live at The Sphere” residency, which launched on May 15. The new dates — Aug. 1-3 and 8-10 — bring the total number of shows to 30 so far.
The first six shows, which concluded on May 26, enthralled Deadheads with trippy animations and a simulated launch of the Sphere into space from San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district.
Tickets, which start at $145 including taxes and fees, go on sale to the general public 10 a.m. Friday at 10 a.m. PT. You can register for a band presale, 10 a.m. PT Thursday, via the Dead & Company’s website.
Been Caught Reuniting
The original Jane’s Addiction lineup — singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Pearcy — will reunite for its first tour in 14 years on Aug. 9, when it opens a 25-city US tour at BleauLive at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
Avery reunited with the band for a series of dates in 2022, following his departure 12 years earlier. However, Navarro was absent from those dates due to a reported battle with long COVID.
The classic lineup reunited on stage for the first time on May 23, for an intimate tour warm-up gig at London’s Roundhouse.
A general on-sale for the entire US tour, co-headlined by Love and Rockets. will be held at 10 a.m. PT Friday, May 31 at ticketmaster.com. Information about a band presale can be found here.
Cardi Will Not B Shamed
Cardi B is making headlines for a viral social media video of her May 25th performance at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas. In the video, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s performance is narrated by “fans” insulting her body type and the inappropriateness of her skin-tight catsuit.
Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Cephus, responded with her own video. Seen by even more people on X/Twitter (1.8 million and counting) the clip features the rapper eating a large plate of pancakes in a white bathrobe.
“I’m getting body-shamed,” she mock-complains, pretending to cry as she adds three sprays of canned whipped cream to her breakfast. “I’m so sad. Everybody’s saying that I look fat, that my ass is so fat. Everybody hates me. What am I gonna do, huh?”
Ice Cube’s Off-Strip Chill
Ice Cube announced Tuesday that he will perform in Las Vegas on Sept. 20 — but not on the Strip. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member will perform at the pool at the M Resort in Henderson, Nev. Tickets, starting at $45 without taxes and fees, go on sale Friday via Ticketmaster and themresort.com.
