A man allegedly stabbed three victims early Saturday at a restaurant in British Columbia’s Starlight Casino, according to Canadian authorities.
The stabbing took place during a fight between two groups of people at the New Westminster, BC eatery. The fight occurred on the restaurant’s patio.
Each of the three victims was transported to a local hospital. They are expected to recover from the wounds.
Police didn’t reveal why the two groups got into a fight.
One unnamed person was arrested at the casino. Police were continuing to identify and later arrest additional suspects, according to The Canadian Press.
Armed Shooter Identified
The man who recently exchanged gunfire with police officers before being killed at Indiana’s Hollywood Casino & Hotel has been identified.
While armed with a knife, Milo L. Kirsh, 45, of Avon, Ind., allegedly ran after another man on the fourth floor of the hotel.
Kirsh also allegedly discharged a gun on the hotel’s fourth floor before police arrived.
Kirsh later fired his gun at Indiana state troopers, police said. Officers returned fire. Kirsh was struck by at least one bullet, killing him.
None of the officers was injured. One person in the hotel suffered minor injuries during a confrontation with Kirsh.
Parking Lot Robberies
A man was sentenced last week to more than nine years in prison for a series of robberies in parking lots at California casinos.
Last Wednesday, Sirron Croskey pleaded guilty to one count each of reckless evading and carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in public, as well as to two counts of second-degree robbery. He also admitted to two enhancements for personal use of a firearm, according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
Croskey was ordered by a Contra Costa Superior Court judge to pay restitution totaling $9,855 to seven victims as a result of the holdups, which took place in the San Francisco Bay area. The incidents occurred at casinos in Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, and Napa counties.
In the most recent robbery in Napa County, Croskey allegedly fled from deputies during a high-speed chase. He later jumped out of the vehicle and ran from the deputies until he was apprehended.
The same firearm was used in each of the robberies.
“Californians deserve to live their lives free from the shadow of violence,” Bonta said in Friday’s statement. “I am immensely proud of my team for their unwavering commitment to justice and for ensuring that those who violate the law are held responsible. When we work together, we get results that create a safer and more secure California for everyone.”
Alleged Serial Cheater Arrested Again
A Tennessee man. is due in court next week after he allegedly cheated while playing craps at Ohio’s JACK Cleveland Casino. He pocketed $5,080 by the scheme, police said.
Ellis Quinn, 62, of Memphis, Tenn., was charged with violation of casino gaming laws for the July 31 incident. Authorities said Quinn placed additional bets 15 times after the dice had been rolled. The incidents were photographed via casino surveillance cameras.
Quinn was previously convicted of cheating for improper play at several casinos. He was banned from gambling in Ohio and Pennsylvania, too. He received prison sentences for past cheating, according to Cleveland.com, a regional news site.
