The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced the selection of Intralot Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of Bally’s Intralot Group, as its new lottery technology solution provider after a competitive procurement process.

Modernizing Ontario’s Lottery Platform
OLG stated that the agreement represents a major technology overhaul for the province’s lottery operations. Intralot will replace aging software, making it easier to introduce new games to the marketplace, improve the customer experience, and modernize the lottery’s behind-the-scenes infrastructure.
“We’re excited to work together to bring customers even more engaging lottery experiences, with offerings designed to better meet their needs and add more enjoyment to every play,” said Duncan Hannay, President and CEO of OLG.
“This investment will position us for future growth, modernize legacy systems, and strengthen our ability to give back to the people and communities of Ontario,” Hannay added.
Building For Future Growth
The new lottery technology solution is expected to be in place by 2029. Intralot Group is one of the w0rld’s largest lottery and gaming technology companies, operating in 40 jurisdictions worldwide. Their clients include state and national lotteries.
“Our platforms are built to handle the complexity, scale and security demands of modern lottery operations, backed by decades of hands-on experience running mission-critical lottery systems across global markets,” said Robeson Reeves, CEO of Bally’s Intralot Group. “As the industry continues to evolve, we are committed to giving OLG the tools, data intelligence and technical foundation it needs to lead.”
There will be no changes in the short term for people buying lottery tickets while the new system is built.
No Immediate Player Changes
OLG’s core jackpot games include LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, LOTTARIO, and DAILY GRAND. The crown corporation lists 16 lottery games on its website. That does not include PROLINE sports betting and digital casino.
Last November, OLG announced the arrival of a new LOTTO MAX, with the jackpot now up to $90 million. The previous jackpot cap was $80 million. OLG also added a new $25 million jackpot (25 new MAXPLUS prizes of $100,000 each).
The MAXPLUS prizes are based on the jackpot amount. For example, when the jackpot is $10 million, 10 additional prizes of $100,000 will be drawn, up to 90 additional $100,000 prizes when the jackpot hits $90 million.
