Casino Crime Round Up: Two Red Rock Employees Stabbed, Suspect Shot

Two workers at Las Vegas’ Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa were slashed by a solitary man early Saturday, according to news reports. They were critically injured.

The stabber then was shot at the crime scene by Red Rock security guards, according to the New York Post

The victims were rushed to University Medical Center (UMC) where they reportedly were being treated for life-threatening wounds. The suspect also was injured and was taken to UMC for emergency treatment.

No details were provided on the injuries of the three patients. All three were believed to be alive as of Saturday morning.

“I was there,” one unnamed witness was quoted by Vital Vegas after the attack. “Had stuck around after concert.”

Security ran by not far from me chasing someone, and then you heard the shot fired. People scattered everywhere. I dove behind a machine. Whoever was shot [,] was down near the entrance to Lucky Penny.”

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers were alerted about the violent incident shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. Numerous officers responded to the casino.

It appeared to be an isolated incident. No members of the public were at risk. The casino remained open.

LVMPD officers are likely reviewing surveillance camera video in the casino to investigate the stabbing. They also searched the area for witnesses and physical evidence.

Motive Unclear

No immediate word on why the suspect stabbed the two employees. It’s unclear if the suspect used a knife or another type of weapon when attacking the victims.

The identities of the suspect and two employees weren’t released by LVMPD officers.

Red Rock is located off of Charleston Boulevard near Route 215.

Downtown Fight, Gunfire Heard

Gunfire was sounded Saturday morning near Fremont and Main streets in Downtown Las Vegas, according to a LVMPD post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A fight was spotted involving two groups of individuals as of 5 a.m. As of early Saturday, there were no reports of injuries.

The incident took place in 100 block of Fremont Street, near Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue, according to Las Vegas TV station KSNV. The Fremont Street Experience is also nearby.

Numerous suspects were apprehended. Charges and the suspects’ names weren’t revealed.

Details weren’t provided by the LVMPD.

LVMPD officers continued to investigate the incident as of early Saturday.

There are numerous casinos located near the scene of the fight.
