FanDuel has released a new commercial featuring rapper Lil Wayne. The ad, titled “Little Boost,” premiered on Thursday (Oct. 8) as part of the company’s “Most Rewarding Season Ever” initiative for the current NFL season.

“Football season is always a vibe, so teaming up with FanDuel for this one was fun,” Lil Wayne said in a statement from FanDuel. “‘Little Boost’ is quick, it’s funny, and I had a good time bringing a little Weezy to the campaign.”

The commercial—Lil Wayne’s first for the company—is built around FanDuel’s “boost” concept, a reference to the “Profit Boost Tokens” available in the FanDuel Sportsbook. Those tokens allow customers to increase potential payouts on certain eligible sports wagers by a set percentage. (Tokens do not change the stake, however, and FanDuel sets a maximum wager and an expiration on each one.)

In the ad, that idea is extended into everyday situations rather than shown on a betting screen. In one, a man holds up a fish he has just caught, and the fish suddenly grows larger. In another, three people sitting tightly together on a couch gain more space when the couch expands. A separate shot shows a soft pretzel growing in size in a fan’s hand before he takes a bite. Each vignette is designed to illustrate the notion of a “boost” as an exaggerated upgrade.

Near the end of the commercial, the setting shifts to a recording studio. Lil Wayne appears, receives a similar visual “boost,” and delivers his only line: “Call me Medium Wayne.”

FanDuel is using its current ad campaign to highlight new product features including the Sportsbook Rewards Club, a season-long, points-based program new to the sportsbook this year. It brings daily rewards, tier status, and a weekly “Choose Your Reward” into one place, with options that can include a deposit match, a bet-reset token, a bonus bet, or a Profit Boost Token.

Developed by Arts & Letters Creative Co. in partnership with FanDuel, the “Little Boost” ad is scheduled to run across TV, streaming platforms, social media, digital placements, and out-of-home advertising during the football season. Arts & Letters also made FanDuel’s “The Bar” campaign and this year’s “Last Call for Football” spots with Joe Montana, Rob Gronkowski, Adam Vinatieri, and Luis Guzmán.

FanDuel has reported high engagement early in the season, stating that Week 1 produced its largest regular-season Sunday (Sept. 13) by active sportsbook customers. FanDuel did not release the customer count.

Across licensed sportsbooks, GeoComply logged 99.8 million geolocation checks that day, up nearly 176% from the last Sunday in August, and about 135,700 new accounts.
