August 13 was a lucky day for a mystery player who won $1.25 million at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.

The unnamed visitor to the Florida gaming property was about to leave the casino for the day on Sunday, but instinct told her to put one more bill into the gambling machine.

Her total bet increased from $5 to $12.50, which is when she won the life-changing payout on the Aristocrat Gaming machine game.

It was on a Dollar Storm – Ninja Moon game. The total win was $1,253,321.04.

No word on how she will spend the money.

Live! Casino Couple Win Payout

Daniel Johnson and his wife, Janice, of Latrobe, Pa., recently won $140,795 at Live! Casino Pittsburgh.

The two were at the Hempfield Township gaming property on July 29 when Janice, who had been seated at a game, needed to use a restroom. Daniel took her spot at the machine when he hit the jackpot on a grand progressive payout.

What will they do with the money?

“We’ll probably blow it (at the casino),” Johnson told the Latrobe Bulletin news outlet.

Won Car on Mother’s Day

Janice Johnson won a car earlier during a Mother’s Day promotion at the same gaming property.

Both she and her husband are frequent guests at the casino, and he’ll often take her place temporarily at a machine if she needs to use a restroom or if she goes to get something to eat. The strategy is a winning one for the couple, and casino management doesn’t mind, as they like to see visitors hit jackpots.

Across the country on July 11, a guest at The California Hotel & Casino hit for more than $19K while playing on a Huff ‘n’ More Puff machine.

Earlier this month, Light & Wonder announced it will reunite with SciPlay, the social casino developer spun off from the former in 2019. Light & Wonder will purchase approximately 17% of SciPlay it didn’t previously own in an all-cash deal valuing the target at $22.95 a share.
