Oklahoma’s Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant awarded a life-changing $1M to a Texas grandmother over the weekend.

Rosa Guia of Lancaster found it hard to believe she was the lucky winner.

“I still can’t believe it. I can’t believe it because of how much it is. I know it’s real because I won $1 million tonight,” Guia was quoted by Texas’s Focus Daily News.

I’m not sure what I am going to do with the money, but I have four children and 12 grandchildren. I think I will take them somewhere,” she said.

This is not the first win for Guia at the gaming property. She won $41,000 in 2017.

“I love it here because I do win, and I can double my money,” she added.

Guia regularly goes to the gaming property.  For more than a decade, she often shows up on weekends. Many times, her family joins her.

She explained it is a great way for her to relax.

She has worked for the past 23 years at an embroidery graphics company, according to the Focus Daily News.

This weekend’s payout was the second $1 million grand prize drawing at the tribal casino this summer. A third drawing is scheduled for later this season.

They are part of Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant’s $6.6 Million Summer Giveaway promotion.

The jackpots are lifechanging for the lucky winners.

“Today, we made a second rewards club member an instant millionaire as part of our 3 Months. 3 Millionaires giveaway,” Jeff Penz, senior director of gaming and hospitality at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant, said in a statement released on Sunday. “Nothing compares to creating these life-changing moments for our guests, and we’re looking forward to doing it one more time.”

Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant is operated by the Choctaw Nation. It has 7,400 slots, more than 100 table games, and a poker room.

$91K Win at Fremont Casino

Las Vegas’s Fremont Hotel and Casino paid out more than $91K to a lucky slot machine player on Friday.

The exact total came to $91,404.25. He had bet 75 cents on the slot.

He was identified as “Andre.” No last name was given.

The win was announced on the casino’s Twitter feed. “Congratulations, Andre!” the Twitter post said. “May your lucky streak never end!”

$2.4M Winner in New Jersey

BetMGM paid a lucky player in New Jersey $2.4 million on a game last month.

The unnamed player won the jackpot while playing Luck O’ The Jackpot on June 6 on the Borgata Online Casino.

In total, BetMGM paid out about $75 million in jackpots during the first half of this year.

Michigan players got the most, $27.4 million, New Jersey players received $23.2 million, and third was Pennsylvania, with $18.8 million.

Last year, BetMGM, an iGaming and online sportsbook operator, awarded more than $104 million in jackpots. It is expected that total will be surpassed this year, given recent wins, the company has predicted.
