This summer has been very rewarding for players at several gaming properties. A Las Vegas local, known as “Jesus C.,” won $10.5M last week on a slot machine at Cannery Casino & Hotel in North Las Vegas.
He hit the jackpot on the IGT Megabucks machine on July 7 with a $40 bet at the Boyd Gaming property.
The total payout was $10,488,726 after he lined up three Megabucks symbols, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
It was the first time he played at the casino. More often, he plays at the Orleans or Gold Coast casinos in Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas TV station KTNV.
The mystery player will use some of the money to purchase a house for his mother.
Grandpa Wins
Also, a very lucky unnamed grandfather from California’s Ventura County won $1.3 million on July 1 at Chumash Casino Resort.
He hit the record-setting payout on a progressive slot machine in the higher limits room at the Santa Ynez, Calif. gaming property.
Five weeks earlier, the same player won $556K at another slot also at Chumash Casino.
Some of the money will go toward tuition for the winner’s grandchildren. One apparently favorite granddaughter, who will reach the age of 16 in September, will get a new car as a present thanks to the jackpot, according to KABC.
The previous record jackpot at Chumash was $1 million which was won in 2014.
“I was just surprised and very glad,” the mystery winner told the Santa Barbara News Press about the jackpot.
He plays at the casino every couple of months, the Sacramento Bee further reported.
The casino is located about 125 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
