One exceptionally lucky casino visitor, Bradley Bullock of California’s East County, won $2,000 while playing a slot machine at a nearby casino. His luck continued for two more days, according to recent news reports.
The following day, July 4, he went out to get an energy drink. While at the 7-Eleven in Santee, Calif., he also purchased two California lottery scratch-off tickets.
He took them home and basically forgot about them. Later in the day, he checked the tickets with a lottery app. Scanning one of them — a Royal Riches game — he discovered he won the top prize of $10M.
I knew I’d won before I even scratched it because I scanned the barcode with the lottery app,” Bullock later told California lottery officials.
Initially, he couldn’t believe it.
“I scratched to see if it was real,” Bullock recalled.
“It was more of a shock,” Bullock recently told San Diego TV station KNSD. “It probably took seven or eight hours that day to come down from the excitement of it.”
He decided to take the lump-sum cash payout of $5.8M.
But his amazing luck continued.
The very next night, a buddy of mine was doing a staycation back at the casino, and we ended up combining to win 29 grand,” he recalled.
That amounted to “three days of wild luck,” Bullock said in the lottery statement.
As of now, he continues to work as a lineman in East County.
“I’m still working,” Bullock told KNSD. “Been doing that for almost seven years now … You know, someone who’s never had that much money, I don’t know how far it will go, so I’m still working for now.”
