The victim died at the scene from neck wounds. He wasn’t immediately identified, but was described as a man in his 50s.

The incident began when two vehicles were both being driven on Las Vegas Boulevard in an area where road construction is taking place.

A quarter of a mile down the street, both vehicles came to a stop at Las Vegas Boulevard and Palazzo Drive in front of the Palazzo at the Venetian Resort.

The Uber driver got out of his grey Jeep Cherokee and approached the woman’s car. He banged on the driver’s side window of the silver Subaru WRX. The driver, who was in her 20s, pulled out a gun and shot him at 4:04 p.m. He died at the scene.

The victim was armed, but collapsed on the street before he could fire his gun.

Police got the license plate of the Subaru, which sped away. The car was later found by police at the driver’s residence.

The unnamed shooter was interviewed by local police, but so far, no charges have been filed against her.

Two passengers in the Subaru weren’t injured.

Portions of Las Vegas Boulevard were closed while police investigated the shooting. The road was reopened later on Monday night.

Increase in Road Rage Violence

In a press conference on Monday night Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Lt. Jason Johansson cautioned that “there’s a lot of road construction going on in the valley right now,” so drivers should be patient.

We’re starting to see an increase slightly in some of these road rage incident, type of shootings. A couple of murders,” Johansson added.

“Everyone be patient. None of this is worth your life over a road rage incident.”

McDonald’s Homicide

About 45 minutes after the road rage shooting, another murder took place at about a mile away from the road rage incident at a McDonald’s located near the Strip, according to Las Vegas TV station KSNV.

The victim was shot inside the Paradise Road restaurant. He was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he later died.

Police are searching for two suspects who also were inside the McDonald’s. They got into a dispute with the victim and then one of them shot him. Both fled from the McDonald’s before officers arrived.

Both suspects are black men. One was wearing a black shirt or hoodie with a black ball cap. The other was wearing a green shirt/hoodie and a green ball cap.
