German rapper Capital Bra has been hit with a €250,000 ($293,000 USD) fine by the GGL (Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder) for allegedly using his massive social media reach to promote illegal gambling.

GGL Investigation

The fine comes after a 2025 GGL investigation, with the regulator claiming Capital Bra had recorded himself playing on illegal gambling sites, live streaming those sessions then sharing the recorded videos online.

The GGL also claimed the rapper was running banner ads for these platforms, as well. Advertising for illegal gambling is illegal in Germany, under Section 5 (7) of the 2021 State Treaty on Gambling.

The regulator was first alerted about the advertising in October 2025. A warning was issued, but there was no response from the rapper’s side, including not showing up to a hearing.

Fined During Live Show

“Although procedures of this kind may be associated with particular challenges, especially where affected persons are difficult to reach and service cannot be carried out easily, the Authority shall use all legally permissible means and cooperate with the competent police authorities to ensure the enforcement of applicable law,” the GGL said in a statement. “Practice shows that enforcement succeeds.

“Illegal gambling must neither be advertised nor trivialized or promoted through seemingly entertaining content,” the regulator added.

Capital Bra’s real name is Vladislav Balovatsky. The fine was issued earlier this week by West Hesse police during a live concert at the Euro Palace in Wiesbaden.

We are not deterred even by well-known names,” said Ronald Benter, Board Member of the GGL. “Anyone who advertises illegal gambling must expect consistent official measures.”

Advertising Illegal Gambling

The GGL is Germany’s national regulator for online gambling and cross-state gambling activities, set up in 2021 to establish one central authority, issuing licenses and monitoring compliance.

Capital Bra, who was born to Ukrainian parents and is one of the biggest names in Deutschrap (German rap), holds the record for the most No. 1 singles in Germany (27), and is one of the most-streamed artists out there, with a style that focuses on street themes.

The website capibonus.com is promoted on his Twitch channel, which promotes online casino platforms, none of which are GGL authorized operators.
