Key Points

  • New York Mets partnership with Novig makes the Mets the first MLB franchise to sign a prediction market sponsorship
  • Novig received CFTC approval in June and plans a nationwide real-money launch in August 2026

The New York Mets have announced a partnership with Novig, the first such deal involving a Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise and a prediction market platform.

It’s a multi-year partnership that makes Novig the Exclusive Official Prediction Market Partner of the New York Mets. Under the terms of the agreement, Novig will be integrated across the Mets’ landscape, including in-ballpark, broadcast, digital and social media activations.

Novig’s National Expansion

Novig is a U.S.-based sports prediction market platform that received regulatory approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in June. Its nationwide, real-money rollout is just beginning, set to go live nationwide in August 2026.

“Innovation is a defining characteristic of our business, and this partnership is another example of our commitment to staying at the forefront of the evolving sports landscape,” said Lew Sherr, president of business operations for the New York Mets.

“It reflects our broader goal of delivering unique experiences for our fans and continuing to attract industry-leading partners who want to grow alongside the Mets,” Sherr added.

Integrity Program Focus

The deal with the Mets follows Novig’s designation as an MLB Authorized Prediction Market, establishing Novig’s participation in MLB’s integrity program.

Novig is collaborating with the league on areas such as market monitoring and reporting protocols, and on restricting micro markets that could raise MLB integrity concerns.

“Our mission is to build the home for sports trading,” said Jacob Fortinsky, CEO and co-founder of Novig. “Partnering with one of baseball’s most iconic franchises allows us to bring that vision directly to fans in one of the greatest sports markets in the world.

“The Mets have consistently embraced innovation that enhances the fan experience, and together, we’re introducing a new way for fans to engage with the game that is transparent, regulated and built on integrity,” Fortinsky concluded.

MLB Deal With Polymarket

At a wider level, the MLB signed an official league-level partnership with Polymarket in March 2026, making the prediction market MLB’s Official Prediction Market Exchange.

The deal included Polymarket’s ability to use MLB marks and logos in its products and access to official MLB data to help power and settle prediction markets. Polymarket agreed to avoid markets with integrity risks, such as individual pitches, manager decisions, and umpire performance.
