Key Points
Novig has officially launched its federally regulated sports prediction market across the United States
The platform offers peer-to-peer sports trading with no traditional vig, deeper liquidity, and live in-game markets
Novig differentiates itself from other prediction markets via a sports-only focus, 21+ age requirement

“For too long, sports fans have had limited ways to engage with the markets they know best,” said Jacob Fortinsky, co-founder and CEO of Novig, in a statement.
“They are among the most passionate and informed communities in the world, yet they’ve never had a platform truly built around how they think, engage and trade.
“We built Novig to change that, not only by creating the best place to trade sports, but by setting the standard for what a modern sports prediction market should be,” Fortinsky added.
According to the company, its model brings instant live trading as games unfold, deeper liquidity across markets, and expanded payment options.
Sports-Only Trading Focus
Unlike traditional prediction markets, users won’t find contracts on economic data, elections, entertainment, or other non-sports events on Novig.
Instead, like other operating prediction market platforms, CFTC approval allows Novig to bypass state-by-state sportsbook licensing and launch a venue offering better odds, zero traditional vig, and no limits on winning bettors.
Another key differentiator is its 21+ age requirement, making Novig the only prediction market to enforce this higher age threshold.
Competition Heats Up
ProphetX, a peer in the sports prediction space, secured CFTC regulatory approval on June 11 and is now live. Meanwhile, major traditional operators including DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics continue to monitor the space as boundary lines between sportsbooks and financial markets blur.
Novig enters the national market with significant backing, having raised $105 million across two funding rounds since 2025. Ahead of its Tuesday launch, the company also secured a major mainstream marketing foothold on July 30, naming itself the Exclusive Official Prediction Market Partner of the New York Mets.
Market activity on Novig’s platform was already underway Thursday morning for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. As of 9 a.m. EST, contract prices gave the Carolina Panthers a 52.5% implied chance of victory over the Arizona Cardinals (48%), with market volume topping $71,800.
