Nas just announced three Labor Day shows at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. The rapper will be joined by the Las Vegas Philharmonic for the dates, which celebrate the 30th anniversary of his “Illmatic” album.
“Las Vegas has always served as a creative outlet for my music, and these performances will take that to the next level,” Nas said in a statement. “I am excited to partner with the Las Vegas Philharmonic to bring this first-of-its-kind performance to Encore Theater and to showcase my music to my fans in Las Vegas in a whole new way.”
The dates — August 29 and 31, and September 1 – go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, starting at $69.95 (without fees or taxes) via Ticketmaster.
Vedder Judgement
Eddie Vedder is making national headlines for comments he made during Pearl Jam’s concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday. The band’s singer used his spotlight there to attack Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker for the commencement speech he gave at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. on May 11.
During the speech, widely derided for its sexism and homophobia, Butker attacked Pride Month and shared his belief that women belong in the kitchen.
“The irony was that when he was saying that, he looked like such a fucking pussy,” Vedder said as his audience erupted in applause. “There’s nothing more masculine than a strong man supporting a strong woman.”
Are You Gonna Go His Way?
Lenny Kravitz announced a fall mini-residency at the Park MGM on Monday. Titled “Blue Electric Light,” after the musician’s upcoming 12th studio album, the limited engagement will run October 18, 19, 23, 25, and 26 at Dolby Live. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24 through Live Nation and Ticketmaster. A fan presale will be held starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, and Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and MGM Rewards presales will start at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23.
