For a fourth consecutive year, Wynn Las Vegas was named the best hotel in the US casino center by Travel + Leisure. The publication’s “best of” rankings include airports, cities, hotels, resorts, and more.
Each year, Travel + Leisure polls readers in what’s widely regarded as one of the most respected queries in the industry. For the hotels category, readers answer questions based on room quality, location, service, food, and value. Readers choose rankings of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor for each of the aforementioned hotel traits.
With a score of 92.75, with 100 being the best, Wynn led the way in Las Vegas, pacing 1.35 points ahead of the Waldorf Astoria at CityCenter. New amenities and entertainment options contributed to Wynn’s latest top ranking.
This year, Wynn debuted the ‘only-in-Las Vegas’ spectacle, Awakening, featuring acrobatics, soaring aerialists, and high-energy choreography set in the technologically immersive Awakening Theater,” according to a statement. “The resort also introduced Wynn Living Well, a program with curated health and wellness experiences. Focused on three pillars – renew, replenish, and re-energize, guests can enjoy an array of bespoke wellness options while traveling.”
Travel + Leisure readers described Wynn’s service as “excellent” and the venue’s rooms as “elegant.” One claimed the property’s spa was the best such experience of that customer’s life. Wynn’s sister property, Encore Las Vegas, placed sixth on the list.
Accolades Old Hat for Wynn
Travel guide accolades are nothing new for Wynn. Earlier this year, the operator garnered another 24 five-star awards in the 2023 edition of the Forbes Travel Guide (FTG).
Those awards pertained to the company’s two Las Vegas venues along with Encore Boston Harbor, Wynn Macau, and Wynn Palace. Wynn Las Vegas, Encore Las Vegas, and Wynn Palace are the three largest FTG five-star hotels worldwide.
Wynn’s next new venue will be Wynn Al Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Slated to open in early 2027, the property will be the first casino resort in the Arab world, but the operator will deploy its usual playbook of relying on high-end accommodations, eateries, and entertainment over gaming to lure customers.
The Las Vegas-based company is also said to be one of the frontrunners for a New York City-area casino permit. Should it win that license, it’s likely that venue will feature all of the glitz associated with established Wynn properties.
MGM Big Winner on Travel + Leisure List
Of the top 10 venues on Travel + Leisure’s Las Vegas rankings, six are operated by or located in properties controlled by MGM Resorts International. The outliers are Wynn and Encore, the Waldorf Astoria, and Venetian Las Vegas, which placed fifth on the list.
The highest-rated MGM property is the newest to the operator’s fold, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. That casino hotel was ranked third by Travel + Leisure’s readers. The Four Seasons in Mandalay Bay, which is run by MGM, placed fourth.
Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, and Park MGM, all of which are operated by MGM, placed seventh through 10th, respectively, on the list.
