Triple George Grill Unveils Low-Guilt “Glegan” Menu
One of our favorite downtown haunts, Triple George Grill, could rest on its laurels. In fact, there’s probably a special room where Triple George keeps its laurels, right next to the accolades and kudos.
But, no. Triple George Grill is keeping things interesting by launching a new “Glegan” menu, which we’re not even sure was a thing until now.
“Glegan” is a hybrid of “vegan” and “gluten-free.” All the items on Triple George’s new menu are one or the other, and most are both.
Here’s a look at the chicken tacos, a dish that’s both vegan and gluten-free. We probably should have put “chicken” in quotation marks, because the “chicken” is actually meat-free Gardein chicken. Gardein, of course, is a portmanteau of “garden” and “protein.”
Triple George has somehow figured out a way to make meatless dishes both delicious and satisfying. We’re thinking there may be voodoo involved, but were unable to confirm that.
Also scrumptious is the Chicken Stir Fry. Again, Gardein chicken to the rescue. The rest of this guilt-free dish includes squash, zucchini, carrots, broccoli and some roasted peanuts for good measure.
We also invaded the personal space of an excellent Penne Primavera (also vegan and gluten-free). The dish features zucchini, squash, red peppers, spinach and several other things we tend to avoid eating unless a gun is held to our head.
If you have difficulty getting completely onboard the vegan bandwagon (it’s a steakhouse, after all), you’re in luck. Not so lucky for the chicken, but let’s not get bogged down in compassion.
The Glegan menu also has a Chicken and Brussels entree with actual grilled chicken, Brussels sprouts, asparagus and a balsamic glaze.
Also on the new Triple George Grill Glegan menu are a kale salad, cauliflower rice and Southwest Burger (with a soy patty).
All the dishes are moderately priced, and prepared with the care which has given Triple George Grill its aforementioned laurels. Which are vegan and gluten-free, by the way.
Triple George Grill is located across from Downtown Grand, between Pizza Rock and Hogs & Heifers. Want to see a sweet 360-degree thingy we made of Triple George? Go here.
The Glegan menu was a direct response to customer requests for healthier fare, so props to Triple George for continuing to expand its repertoire.
And, no, a “repertoire” is not a lady part. What is wrong with you?
