Go Sexy Store at Flamingo Wants Its Sex Toys Back

This Las Vegas tale has some interesting twists and turns. Not to mention the occasional oscillating prostate gland tickler.

From what we understand, Flamingo Las Vegas, on behalf of its Go Sexy store, is requesting a county code be changed to allow the sale of adult toys. As we’ve said before, this ain’t your grandpa’s Flamingo.

Adult-themed stores are, of course, very popular with Vegas visitors, especially honeymooners or those taking part in bachelor and bachelorette parties.

A Flamingo rep says, “In response to the interest from guests at the Flamingo Las Vegas, the resort presented an Amendment to the Clark County Code which will allow the Flamingo Las Vegas to offer a limited selection of adult novelty items. The retail store ‘Go Sexy’ caters to bachelor and bachelorette parties and weddings, and is located on the shopping promenade at the Flamingo. The store currently sells lingerie, costumes and other gifts.”

But here’s the thing. When Go Sexy opened at Flamingo Las Vegas, it was fully stocked with sex toys. We’re talking the serious stuff, vibratorwise. In fact, it was the only hotel store that made this Las Vegas blog blush.

During a recent visit, Go Sexy still had a robust collection of adult-themed merchandise, but the more hardcore toys were nowhere to be found. The section which previously displayed the most hardcore devices now features clothing.

Given its recent application to Clark County, it’s possible the Flamingo realized it was violating the county’s existing code and promptly removed a lot of its sex shop merchandise in the hopes the code revision will be granted.

The merchandise that remains is more playful than raunchy, thus skirting the sex novelty shop rules.

Sex toys are in dangerously low supply on The Strip at the moment.

There was another adult-themed store at Paris Las Vegas, La Vogue Bridal and Bachelorette Boutique, which quietly closed a few months ago and was replaced by a far-less-sexy Travel+ suitcase shop.

So, what’s one to do for sex toys in Vegas? For the time being, you’ll have to bring your toys with you, or venture off The Strip to one of the somewhat-creepy adult novelty stores like the Adult Superstore (3850 Tropicana).

Strip clubs often have adult-themed stores attached, too. Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club (6007 Dean Martin Dr.) has an especially broad selection, as does De Ja Vu’s Love Boutique (3247 Industrial Road).

Allegedly. From what we’ve heard. From people who have actually gone to those places. Which we haven’t. Unless we were doing research. Probably.
