We May Have to Start Calling It Gansevoort Las Vegas
It’s been rough letting go of our beloved Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon. Especially the saloon part. But it might just be time to start calling it Gansevoort Las Vegas.
Bill’s has been undergoing dramatic changes, daily, and we’re thinking this is the point where we bid farewell to a dear friend, and introduce ourselves to the hot new thang.
A lot of the renovations transforming Bill’s into Gansevoort Las Vegas, a new boutique hotel, aren’t easily seen as you’re driving by on Las Vegas Boulevard. The photo below, for example, was captured recently from the roof of the Flamingo parking lot.
Below, see how Gansevoort’s rear end looks now, from a nearly identical angle, in a photo taken Sep. 4, 2013. Note the complete removal of the distinctive spiral ramp into the former self-park garage.
Beyond what we’ve seen before, it appears Gansevoort and Caesars Entertainment (the new hotel is a partnership between the two companies) have more surprises in store. There’s a massive construction area adjacent to the Flamingo’s parking garage. Only from above can you see the extent of the construction.
There’s a lot of digging, cement-pouring and hard-hatting going on, but you’d never know it from Flamingo Boulevard.
It came as a surprise that the new Gansevoort is getting both a coat of primer and paint, apparently at the same time, even while the hotel’s guts are still being removed.
Looks like the hand rails are staying! Hey, it’s something.
Progress is swift in Las Vegas! In fact, things are moving so quickly, these two construction workers appear to be the first customers to get a table at Giada De Laurentiis’ new Las Vegas restaurant.
The smart money is on the new restaurant being called Giada’s, by the way.
Now, enjoy, or suffer through, more renovation photos from Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon. Or Gansevoort Las Vegas.
Apparently, we still have a way to go on this one.
Bill's Gamblin' Hall is Now Gansevoort
